Joshua is constantly nervous, and spends much of his time cowering or keeping away from danger. As a warrior's apprentice, he's not much- how would he ever become a soldier? Joshua knows this, and often worries about his own demise and what could someday happen to him. He's cowardly but won't run off when he's really needed somewhere, and at least tries- maybe not to the best effect. He's a nice dude and despite often being too quiet or too loud about things, often having no clue how to properly control tone. He believes that some day in his life he must have dragonets although he doesn't have any personal care for them. He does his best and is immensely loyal to friends and people he sees as his family.
Often Joshua gets flashbacks of being a scavenger, those flashes always being intensely vivid. He remembers a lot of his old life, but he never likes mentioning it- and he appears to have a fear of scavengers because of it. He always fears to see somebody he recognizes.
History:
Joshua is a young orphaned dragon that was ditched far out into the desert, only to be picked up by a returning soldier- Jaguar was a fairly rough dragon, but he had been looking for an apprentice for a while and decided to train him in what he knew as a veteran. Joshua's personality wasn't great for fighting, and he didn't learn too fast, but he did manage to develop a good fighting style that made him a rather good soldier. Jaguar believes that he should admit to himself that he's actually fairly good yet nervous, and Joshua believes that the older dragon should just give up and get a new apprentice that's not as useless as he is.
Eventually Jaguar let him out into the world to make a name for himself and go on his own quests.
Joshua is actually a reincarnated scavenger- a dragonmancer's apprentice who ended up being killed by a dragon on one of his first quests. As he laid dying from the venom of a SandWing, he pleaded for a second chance to prove himself- which is when he rewoke as a young SandWing, finding himself out in the desert with no family to his name. He has no clue how he got there or whether or not he was just thrown into the world just for this purpose, but he plans to do his best with his second chance and make Jaguar proud.
