The character's appearance: Skye has bright, sky blue scales with a pattern of white clouds running down her back, tail, legs, and the arms of her wings, as well as a large patch of white on her side, bordering her underbelly, which is slightly darker than the rest of her body. Her eyes, horns, and claws are golden in color, and her antennae and the insides of her ears are a lighter shade of the same color. Her wings are storm grey with a pattern like lightning the same color as her horns running across them. Skye is long and tall, with a similarly big wingspan, but very thin, making her not that large overall.

Skye is generally grumpy due to the fact she's constantly pressured to finish things faster. Her work brings in enough for her to afford coffee (even if it's not very good), but it's not a replacement for sleep. She's also reserved by nature, and tends to prefer quiet solitude to loud parties. Combined with the fact her mother was extremely sarcastic when Skye was a dragonet, she tends to snark to anyone she can when they bother her, even occasionally the guards, when she's in a bad mood. Her snark is usually friendly to people she likes, however, and she does have genuine moments with dragons she's close to.

Skye is very creative and tends to think outside the box, unlike her mother when she named her, which shows in her work, resulting in it becoming extremely popular. While this is good for her life in some ways, it also means that she gets invited to parties a lot more than the average SilkWing, and while refusing all of the invitations is very tempting, unless she wants to be seen as a recluse who hates everyone and might have something to hide instead of someone who's just very busy, she can't.

While most wouldn't peg Skye as particularly curious, she is; she just knows when to stop digging. This has lead to her discovering many things that she probably wasn't meant to know without her getting into actual danger, including the existence of the Chrysalis, which she became a member of almost as soon as she heard of it. Skye is one of the leaders at this point, but is less active than she'd like to be; she does put passion in her art, which means that even when she isn't being pressured to finish something, she's usually dedicating a lot of time to her work. 


History:

Skye never knew her father, having been told that he died before her egg had hatched due to a work accident, and she had a slightly younger sister named Comet, but Comet disappeared while Skye was in her cocoon, leading her to believe that her and her sister were both meant to be flamesilks, but Skye didn't get the genes for it.

Aside from that, Skye's life was mostly normal. She was noted as being good at art when she was in school, and she was assigned to live in a different Hive after her Metamorphosis. After that, she learned more complicated techniques for weaving from Swallowtail, an elderly SilkWing who cemented her affinity for snark and sarcasm in all its forms. They ended up working well together because of their similar senses of humor and general attitudes toward the HiveWings mandating some who didn't want to do art do art, and forbidding some who did from creating any art at all. When they fought, however, it was like throwing a match on dry kindling.

Her tapestries quickly became popular, as many dragons who bought them displayed them in prominent positions and told anyone who asked (and even some who didn't) the artist that made it, though she kept in touch with Swallowtail despite the lack of time that came with the fame.
