Vidonya had tried all his life to become someone. Being a BeetleWing merchant was never something that made him happy, yet it created a life for him. Every time he would fail at something, or see another dragon easily succeed where he had failed, sent his mental state further into the darkness. Vidonya is a deeply unhappy person who isn't sure why the world seems to hate him so much and why nothing ever goes right for the poor Beetle, even being sent forward in time where his tribe didn't even exist any longer. This is what creates Vidonya's hatred for what he sees as the "divine forces", as he believes they are against him in some matter that he cannot control.
He's gone a bit insane over the years.
Vidonya owns 6 pets- all animals that are somehow deformed and never sold. These include:
- Melanistic lynx
- Tegu with six legs
- Tailless horse
- Abnormally colored bird of unknown species
- A really big rat
- A ball python- this is his own pet and was never planned to be sold.
One pesky scavenger sometimes follows him around. He's named them "Bandit" because they keep trying to steal his things. Sadly nobody wants to buy them.
History:
Vidonya was originally found in a clutch of four eggs that had been abandoned by some unknown BeetleWing parent. Two of the four eggs didn't properly hatch and the dragonets inside were found dead, with two survivors. One of which was his healthier sister Sulfur, who his adopted parents found much more interesting than him. She was a prodigy, a skilled dragonet that showed promise to become something in life- and Vidonya was never that. For the first few years of his life, he was overshadowed by Sulfur in every way, especially in the eyes of their parents.
On one trip to the jungle, a wild animal- believed to be some sort of snake- snatched up Sulfur, and very little was found of her afterwards. Declared dead once her wings were found, Vidonya was the only living dragonet- and in the eyes of his parents, he continued to be a disappointment. The most he could do was join a merchants guild once he was old enough, and he continued in that lifestyle, having little to do with his family.
He developed a longing to see the BeetleWing god, to ask them why all of this had happened to him. This started out as a simple "Why" that eventually, as his life went on, developed into a deep hatred for divinity. Why had they let this happen to him? They say the Beetle god lets good things happen, why did this happen to him? And he saw everything else that happened- fights, wars, turmoils- and he developed the belief that their god was hurting them.
He develops a wish to slay god, to slay divinity, in a manner of madness- nobody has ever spoken to the object of their faith before. But Vidonya is persistent and finds out all he can about this mysterious figure, the question of why and save them ringing
in his head. He's slowly going mad and people can tell something is wrong with the normally cordial dragon that seems to be slowly breaking inside as his parents ignore him more and more and nobody even remembers his name.
One day he meets the beast they called god, a deep black draconic creature that they barely saw the face of. It stated to have 'godlike power' and it asked what he wanted from it, only to be met with the Beetle's hatred for their very existence. And it hated that, it hated how he came for its life- as if it was mortal in some fashion- and it used that power against him.
Now Vidonya is in a place where no BeetleWings exist, there's more tribes than he ever thought could exist, and the world is full of even more troubles. His hatred turns to sadness and vengeance, and while he appears to be a rather cordial young dragon, he longs to someday take his revenge. But for the time being... anybody want to buy something?
