The sun was blinding already. At 6:30 am. Right, already off to a great start. Redwood blinked a few times, adjusting his eyes to the sudden light falling onto him. It felt good- he'd feel energized for a while if he was to just... stay here and not get up. But alas, it was time to get up. And it's not like anyone would think to ask him about his schedule, no. He was just supposed to obey-
Right. Waking up. A task indeed, but he could do it. The dragon gave a yawn and finally opened his eyes fully, turning away from the sunlight shining on his face. Could I get away with five more minutes? I could get away with five more minutes... I think. Oak shouldn't be wanting me for anything too important yet. Right? Or did he say I had to do something? He probably did, and so he'd have to get up. Fine. The LeafWing yawned again and uncurled from the ball he was in. It was a comfortable position- wings sucked around his body, which was pulled as close as the dragon could manage. His neck usually was the only thing laying out, and even then it was just curled around his wings.
Redwood stretched out his hands, doing a couple quick signs- "hello, good morning, you can get through the day." It felt good to be back and signing like he always was, instead of curled up in a lump of laziness and unproductiveness- not the time. "You can do this." The motions flicked through his hands without thought, reminding himself that he's done this every day for that past... what feels like forever. Probably because he didn't really have a time where he wasn't this- he learned how to sign when he was a couple months old at best, and although he could understand spoken words, he never remembered having a real voice.
The dragon stretched out his wings, happily basking in the sun now that it wasn't in his eyes. He finally stood up, cracked his shoulders, took a breath, and walked out of his hut, blinking in the now even brighter light. Of course, there was Oak, standing in the middle of the camp. The older LeafWing- his colors mottled shades of greens and olives- looked annoyed as ever. He was snapping at some other LeafWing- Sumac? Something like that. Oak was snapping at the poor dragon to do something about the weapons or something- Redwood didn't catch it all.
"And you, boy! Get over here!" The foul-tempered LeafWing snapped, turning to Redwood and flicking his tail at the younger assassin. With a sigh and a nod, Redwood walked over to Oak, who, with a glare, started talking. "Today, you go to Jewel Hive and assassinate a SilkWing. Dark green scales, red wings. Normal silk. Female, and about five years."
The smaller LeafWing nodded. Just another job for peace. He could do this. he's done it before. It's fine, he doesn't mind more blood on his hands. Well- he did. The SilkWing had a life, but... if they were a threat to the peace of everyone.. it made sense. And he needed peace- the HiveWings were corrupt, and if a SilkWing was defending them... then yes. He could remove them.
"Yes, sir." Redwood's hands flew and he nodded, accepting a packet of seeds from Oak.
