Dawnflight glided across the mountain range, somewhat close to the ground. The purple and pink scales shimmered in the light, reflecting onto the ground beneath her. The dragonet hissed as she saw the glimmers of color, as they reminded Dawnflight of her stupid RainWing lineage. Was that why her mother never let her leave the Rainforest, to be with her obnoxious RainWing family? Dawnflight yawned, taking care to keep herself awake. NightWings- proper NightWings anyway- were supposed to sleep during the day, not flap around in it's bright sunny light. Bronzewing 91 words, 91 words total

The dark colored dragon Foresight was sitting on one of the stones of the mountain, tail curled beneath his body as he watched the air. His intense gaze marked a direct line into the sky- it was as if this was his land, and he would find any dragon that crossed it. Of course, he didn't even have a basic home- as the outcast he was, nothing in Pyrrhia belonged to him. Nothing but the things he wore, the treasure he owned and the ground he stood on belonged to his name- and he was fine that way.
On the rock beneath him a dragon skull laid, its empty sockets facing upwards into the air just the same as his own. It was as if the skull was looking along- as if it still had eyes and capability to understand what was happening. It had been perched on the stones carefully- it was placed there, after all, and wasn't just a forsaken remnant of an ancient dragon.
Blinking his tired eyes, a flash of movement caught his attention. Craning his neck closer to the ground to see what it was, he narrowed his eyes to make out the shape of a dragon. Interesting- he had never seen them before- they weren't a local to the mountains. They looked young and were most definitely going somewhere. His curiosity winning over him, he picked up the dragon skull and balanced it on his neck spines before flying after them to see what they were around here for. @peppermint

Seeing the much larger dragon, a wave of panic washed over her. She didn't have fire, or venom, and the brightly colored scales on her wings would prevent her from hiding very well. The dragonet stood frozen midair for a moment, wings beating cautiously. 59 words, 150 words total

He stopped some time before crashing into her, beating his wings at a rapid pace to keep his larger body in the air. Looking over the other dragon, noticing the brightly colored scales dotting their wings, he wondered where those were from. Adjusting his body a bit to keep the dragon skull on his neck spines, he looked over the scared dragonet.
He expected them to try to attack him if he came any closer- this seemed like a good distance away from them. Preparing himself for putting his usual charismatic charm on, he started to speak:
"What brings you here this fine morning? I don't see many NightWings around this side of the mountain." He looked up into the sky. "At least, not other than me."@peppermint

"I- I'm trying to get to the NightWing kingdom." This wasn't planned, certainly not. They were trying to get to the Kingdom of Night? At this time? He guessed they were a rainforest dragon- and maybe that was the reason why their wing scales were so...colorful. Although they did look much more NightWing than a hybrid would be, he did have some questions. Maybe he would ask them, maybe not.
"This early in the morning? I thought I was the only strange dragon to be out in the morning." he said, giving her a small smile- it was entirely fake, but not ever dragon noticed the faux nature of mostly everything he did. "Most likely the kingdom itself is asleep, if that was your plan."

He adjusted the skull on his spines yet again- he hoped they would get to land soon. Flying and talking was always exhausting. "Well, I suppose it's not weird if two of us are doing it." he said with yet another smile. "And what is that you said? I didn't make out your words."
He steadied his wing for a moment or two before continuing to keep himself aloft. Maybe he would move down slowly, eventually getting the both of them down to the ground. Or maybe he could pretend to miss and lash his tail out- a small cut to the wing should bring them down. Maybe. He wasn't sure what the other dragon was capable of yet.

"My mother's half RainWing." Dawnflight began to glide slowly downwards as to avoid any further questions on the subject. 24 words, 285 words total

There we go- they were going downwards. He folded his wings and went into a dive, pulling back up beside her. "Your mother's a hybrid? Interesting- that means you're at least one part hybrid." he said, thinking about the situation. Hybrids were usually a lot more obvious- but even the few colored scales had tipped him off. "Well, I would say flying would tip off most dragons as to your heritage. At least- if they were flying below you." he said thoughtfully. "They do look nice, if that's of any consolation." he said, giving her a nod of his head as he spoke.

Bronzewing Dawnflight shrugged, beginning to warm up to this stranger. She was still wary though. "It's not that great, it's not like I get any RainWing abilities out of it." She chose not to say anything about her lack of fire and instead continued spiraling downwards. 51 words, 336 words total

@peppermint
"You didn't get the teeth, I'm guessing." he said, dropping down and soon hitting the ground with a small tap of his claws. "Shame. What's the point of being a hybrid if you don't have all the stuff that comes along with it?" He had a smooth voice- the one he usually used with unfamiliar dragons.
He would have liked to have the teeth. He looked back at the skull on his back, checking to see if it had the same RainWing teeth as this other dragon did. It didn't, and the blank eye sockets just stared back at him. He did remember once knowing what species it was- he was the one to kill it, after all.
He turned back to the RainWing hybrid, now noticing the small teeth protruding out of their jaws. He scolded himself for not noticing earlier.

Was she really in such a hurry that she couldn't wait to get out of there? Whatever she wanted the Night Kingdom for, it could wait until nightfall, when dragons would be actually awake. Why would anybody have to be in such a hurry?
"You're not stressed for time, are you? What dragon can't spend some time speaking to a friendly tribemate?" they said, the sides of their jaws curling up into a slight smile. "At least, I do hope I'm not making you late!" He already knew they weren't going anywhere in a time limit. Did anybody even know they left?

"Huh? Oh, no, I just.. like to be early." Ha, if only that were true. Dawnflight was late for nearly everything and didn't see the harm in things staying that way. Less stress, and stress, she was very prone to. No, Dawnflight wanted to get to the NightWing Kingdom before nightfall. Her parents would be asleep till then, unaware of her absence. The dragonet yawned again, parting her dark grey jaws to show two small fangs.
